NORTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY

West Village G is a six-story apartment-style building that also houses four tier-seating classrooms.
The building is located on Northeastern campus adjacent to the historic Museum of Fine Arts.
Kripper Studio was engaged by Northeastern University for the deferred maintenance of the
building in order to provide a comprehensive refresh of the building. One of the main goals of
the renovation was project timeline. Work was accelerated for completion for the returning fall
semester of students.
The renovation incorporated an overhaul of the lighting and appliances, introducing select Energy
Star appliances and LED lighting throughout. At the core of student wellness, the updated design
sought inclusivity, health and well being through new braille signage, new wayfinding paint color
schemes, and extensive HVAC duct and vent cleaning. Durable and low VOC flooring evoking
natural elements was installed to replace the deteriorating carpet throughout all living spaces.
