The owners of Cultivate tapped Kripper Studio for both site selection and project design of greater-Boston’s first ever marijuana dispensary. Kripper Studio guided the client toward a narrow, freestanding building overlooking Route 9 in Framingham, Massachusetts, and proposed to use all four elevations of the building as signage for the disruptive business concept. To boost the 1970 square-foot facility’s street presence, the design team clad the single story in corrugated aluminum with a soaring parapet. Taking cues from the exterior material, the interior features concrete flooring and plywood millwork and surfaces. A seating area, vegetated wall, and digital display area in the open space identify customer experiences that take place before and after a transaction, and reflect cannabis’ changing role in the health and wellness industry.
